Legal Services for Families Handling an Estate
Each service at Adita Counsel has been designed for a different stage of the inheritance process — from first understanding what is involved, to working through complexity with full support.
Back to HomeHow We Work With Families
Listen First
Every matter begins with a conversation. We want to understand the full picture before offering any direction — including what the family is hoping for and what concerns them most.
Prepare Carefully
Documents are reviewed thoroughly before any step is taken. A second adviser checks significant submissions. Preparation at the outset prevents complications later.
Explain Throughout
We provide written summaries after each significant step. Families are never left wondering what is happening or what comes next. Questions are welcomed at any stage.
Family Estate Review
A careful review of a family estate with a clear, gentle explanation of the steps ahead. Suited to families beginning to handle an inheritance who need to understand what they are working with before deciding what to do.
This service is particularly valuable when a family is uncertain about the scope of an estate or wants to understand their legal position before taking any further steps. The written overview provided at the end gives families something to refer back to.
- Private consultation with a senior adviser
- Review of available documents and assets
- Written overview of estate and recommended steps
- Plain-language explanation of applicable law
How This Service Works
Initial enquiry. You contact us by phone, email, or the form on our website. We arrange a time for a private consultation.
Document gathering. We send you a short checklist of what to bring or send us. This step sets the pace — the sooner documents arrive, the sooner we can begin.
Review and analysis. A senior adviser reviews the estate documents and considers the applicable legal position. A second adviser checks the findings.
Written overview delivered. You receive a clear, written summary of the estate position and the options available to the family. Questions are answered at a follow-up call.
Succession & Heirship Support
Patient support with succession and heirship matters, explained plainly and handled with sensitivity. This service is suited to families who are working through the practical process of managing an estate following a bereavement.
Succession in Thailand involves coordination with government offices, Land Department registration where property is involved, and proper documentation of the heir's entitlement. We manage this process on behalf of the family and provide regular updates along the way.
- Review and organisation of all relevant documents
- Liaison with government offices on your behalf
- Regular written updates at each stage
- English-language correspondence throughout
How This Service Works
Initial consultation. We meet to understand the estate, who the heirs are, and what the family's priorities are during this period.
Document review and preparation. We review the will (if one exists), identify what official steps are required, and prepare the necessary documentation.
Administrative process. We coordinate with the relevant offices — including the Land Department where property is involved — handling submissions and following up on progress.
Completion. Once all administrative steps are finalised, we provide the family with a clear record of what has been completed and copies of all relevant documents.
Estate Resolution Representation
Considerate representation working toward resolution of a contested estate, with thorough preparation and respectful handling. This service is for families where there is a dispute about the estate — whether about the validity of a will, the share of an heir, or another matter.
Each case is assessed individually before work begins. We will not take on a matter we cannot meaningfully assist with. Where resolution is possible outside formal proceedings, we actively pursue that path first — it is often quicker and less damaging to family relationships.
- Initial case assessment included before commitment
- Full document handling and preparation
- Ongoing guidance at each stage
- Mediation and negotiation where possible
